A contribution to this week’s photo challenge on the theme of Waiting
In Africa you learn to wait. Whether its food at a restaurant where you might wait at least an hour after you order (the longest was three hours!) or as in this case waiting in traffic in one of the large cities.
These photos were taken in Dar Es Salaam (Tanzania) and Kampala (Uganda) which had some of the biggest traffic jams we came across. However, they could easily have been from Nairobi (Kenya), Lusaka (Zambia) or Lilongwe (Malawi). In fact the only large city where we did not encounter as much traffic congestion was Kigali (Rwanda).
Oopsie!! Thats like a lot of traffic!!!

Oooh, tell me about it. I come from the mountains, never having to wait at a traffic jam before. When I moved to NYC for a year, the traffic was nuts! Africa and Asia definitely has it worse though.
